The city of Szovata/Sovata plays an important role in Transylvania’s touristical image. The heliotherm Bear - Lake is the only one in Europe and the biggest among these kind of lakes in the world. Close to Sovata, there are more international attractions: the underground playground and ecumenical chapel of the Salt Mine from Parajd/Praid gives shelter and healing for those with respiratory problems.
A few kilometers away you can visit the family house of the worldknown Transylvanian Hungarian writer Tamási Áron and the grave of count Balázs Orbán; take a day trip to the magnificent Bicaz Pass or to the unique Saint Anna crater lake, discover the secrets of Transylvania.
How to reach us? Coming by car from west follow the direction of Marosvásárhely-Târgu Mureş. If you are coming from south, Brasso/Brasov, drive through Székelyudvarhely/Odorheiu Secuiesc. You can reach us easily also by train from Segesvár/Sighişoara to Marosvásárhely/Târgu Mureş and from here take the bus to Sovata.
